Tamarind Art is an art gallery that exists to promote awareness for Indian Contemporary Art and has maintained an integral role in that for the past two decades. The collection began with a passion for European Art in the early 90s and acquiring major European artists’ paintings and sculptures. While our fervor for European art persisted, we found a blend of European influences and Indian history in one set of artists in particular, known as the Progressives Artist Group. Through this, our passions expanded into Indian art through modernists and contemporaries, and we acquired new mediums, such as miniatures, rare posters, etc.

We have always and will always continue to support young and emerging artists, and believe that artwork should always be enjoyed. To accomplish this task, we lend our collection to museums continuously throughout the USA.
Tamarind Art promotes broad-based practices, and encourages all art lovers to engage with artists who challenge themselves with a spectrum of artworks.
